Show Host Profile: AlskiA lifelong journey of musical exploration has brought Allan Laskey--Alski--to WWOZ, where his show, "The Rhythm Room" airs every Friday night from 10 pm to midnight. Because of the decades Alski spent collecting vinyl and seeking out new sounds from lesser traveled roads, you'll never hear the same thing twice in The Rhythm Room. Alski brings his considerable, ever-evolving music collection into the OZ studio for each show and lets it fly from there. He's an old school DJ. No methodically curated sets or weekly themes to guide him and his listeners, just inspiration in the moment and a mind-boggling collection of incredible songs by musicians you're likely not to have heard of. In your birthday month of October, and always, Alski, we salute you! Dance party in The Rhythm Room! |

Recipe: New Orleans Bread Pudding with Rum SauceIt's no wonder people love bread pudding--it's magical comfort food made from stale bread. It's also versatile: there's a ton of bread pudding recipes out there (as a quick online recipe search will confirm). This version of the New Orleans classic is definitely of the more traditional type. |
