Lani B. Supreme: Legacy, a documentary screening at the New Orleans Film Festival on Tuesday, October 27, at 5:45 pm at The Broad Theater.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Sabaah Folayan and presented by PBS American Masters, the documentary follows Dr. Jelani Akil Bauman, professionally known as Lani B. Supreme, as he explores five generations of his family's New Orleans musical heritage, dating back to the 1800s, before emancipation.

We're anticipating a wonderful community turnout, including representatives from local government, members of the Humphrey family, musicians and others connected to this remarkable history. It's an opportunity to celebrate a family whose contributions to jazz, music education and New Orleans culture span generations.
