The premier art museum in the Gulf South and the city's oldest fine arts institution, the New Orleans Museum of Art continues to exhibit, interpret and preserve works of art from ancient to modern times. Its permanent collection is noted for its extraordinary strengths in French and American art, photography, glass, African and Japanese works. NOMA has also developed a unique Arts of the Americas collection, surveying the cultural heritage of North, Central and South America from the pre-Columbian period through the Spanish Colonial era.

6-9pm | NOMA at Night: Second Nature Public Opening Celebration 

Get creative and explore the museum after hours! Featuring live music by Haruka Kikuchi & Friends, specialty cocktails and mocktails by Café NOMA, art making, gallery talks, and more, NOMA at Night invites you to see the museum in a brand new light. 

At this NOMA at Night, come out and celebrate the public opening of the exhibition Second Nature: Japanese Rinpa Paintings from the Gitter-Yelen Collection, as well as the connected installation Good Fortunes: 50 Years of Japanese Art at NOMA. 

6-9pm: Create your own Sensu fan (Art Studio - 2nd Floor), Enjoy Food & Drinks at Café Noma, and Museum shop deals! 

6:30 & 7:30pm: Gallery Talks Led by Lisa Rotondo-McCord, Deputy Director and Curator of Asian Art (Kurt A. Gitter, MD and Alice Yelen Gitter Gallery - 3rd Floor) 

7:45-8:45pm: Haruka Kikuchi & Friends (Lapis Center for the Arts)
