Like any place in occupied Turtle Island, the place known as New Orleans was known as something else from time immemorial. In this talk we will explore the Indigenous history of the area as well as the influence of area tribes on what makes this place unique.
Dr. Jeffery U. Darensbourg is a local words artist, performer, researcher, tour guide, and activist for Indigenous languages. He is the most published person about Bulbancha and a member of the Atakapa-Ishak Nation.
Event is free and open to the public. No registration required.
