Mykia Jovan is known around town for her frequent collaborations with Kermit Ruffins and the BBQ Swingers. But she is also an innovative vocalist with an eclectic sense of sound. She shifts genres lucidly and is adept in jazz, blues, soul and funk. Her original music features honest lyrics and penetrating emotion captivating everyone within ear shot.
Keyboardist Jason Butler is her musical director for the Billie Holliday tribute, which will feature songs from every phase of the great vocalist’s career. Special guest vocalists include Vegas Cola, Averis Anderson and Lonell Simmons.
Ogden After Hours is a weekly music concert series featuring a brief interview segment, presented by the Ogden Museum of Southern Art at 925 Camp Street. Event is 6 - 8pm. Admission is $10 non-member; Free to Museum Members; and free to children under 5 years old.
