OUR PRAYERS

WWOZ sends healing prayers to everyone affected in the Mother's Day parade shooting including the victims, their families, everyone who was at the parade and the Original Big Seven Social Aid & Pleasure Club. We are praying vigilantly for a full and speedy recovery for our colleague and cultural advocate, Deborah Cotton, who was shot at the parade. Follow the latest updates for Deborah Cotton's condition on the website that she recently launched, www.neworleansgoodgood.com.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Donate blood to help Sunday's victims. Make sure people affected by Sunday's violence know about the mental health resources that are available. Check back often as we keep you posted on fundraisers and other efforts to help the victims.

We know that Deborah Cotton would join WWOZ in encouraging everyone in New Orleans and around the world to continue to support our special New Orleans traditions, like second line parades, since they offer concrete positive alternatives to the culture of violence that is engulfing our community.
