The Don "Moose" Jamison Heritage School of Music is a free program for greater New Orleans students ages 11-17. The program was founded in 1990 by Edward "Kidd" Jordan to provide after-school and weekend opportunities for budding young jazz and blues musicians, to help them develop a sound understanding of basic music performance and theory. From there, students are encouraged to find their own beat! Graduates of the program include Trombone Shorty, Big Sam, and Shamarr Allen.
