Stanton Moore

Stanton Moore brings impeccable drumming, a collaborative spirit, and his jovial personality to every musical and educational endeavor he engages in. The Grammy-winning musician and educator is perhaps best known as one of the founding members of the funk-jazz band Galactic, which has toured relentlessly for the past 25 years, made some ten albums, and manages the world-famous Tipitina’s nightclub. Through Galactic or as a solo artist, Moore has performed across the musical spectrum with artists like George Porter Jr. and Leo Nocentelli (of the Meters), Maceo Parker, Joss Stone, Trombone Shorty, Anders Osborne, Tom Morello (of Rage Against the Machine) and Les Claypool (Primus).

On his own, Moore has released eight albums. One recent project includes performing with Grammy-winning guitarist Eric Krasno; the Krasno/Moore Project’s latest release is “Book of Queens.”  Moore is also actively involved in education, conducting clinics and private lessons and publishing videos and books. His book “Groove Alchemy” is a Modern Drummer pick for Top 25 drum instruction books of all time, while his online drum academy reaches students across the globe. As an individual and as a member of Galactic, Moore has acquired a shelf-load of awards, including a Grammy, and has appeared numerous times on late night TV shows with Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, and Conan O’Brien.
